South Korea Sends In Troops To Slaughter Bird Flu

South Korea has revealed that they have sent in troops to try and stop the spread of the H5N1 bird flu virus.  Troops have been deployed to slaughter poultry.Washington (eCanadaNow) - South Korea has revealed that they have sent in troops to try and stop the spread of the H5N1 bird flu virus.  Troops have been deployed to slaughter poultry.

200 soldies have been sent to chicken farms to slaughter poultry infected with the bird flu.

The chicken farms which were visited by the troops were located 160 miles south of Seoul, Gimje.

Additional troops will be deployed by the Defense Ministry if needed.

Since the outbreak began two weeks ago, 2.2 million poultry have been slaughtered.

The fear is that the H5N1 bird flu virus continues to spread closer and closer to Seoul.
