Party For Rockers At Ozzfest
Party, party, party! A word that makes everyone make planes to “what to wear” and “how my hair should be”. But not here, not at the 2006 Ozzfest.
South California was the host for this years show, held in the “celebration” of the so knows Ozzy Osbourne. The mercury was at 100 degrees just by 11 A.M. on Saturday. At this point many were wondering just how well Ozzy Osbourne would hold up on the Ozzfest second stage. But hey, he is an Osbourne and he proved to be as spirited like always as the nearly 25,000 people gather at San Bernardino’s Hyundai Pavilion.
The first six hours of the day were marked with hardcore/heavy metal hybrids all mixing with toxic blend of dust, sun and beer on the second stage of the Ozzfest. Despite the high level security, the crowd could not be controlled during Black Label Society, the pre-Ozzy set. The crowd control barricades started to bend, bow and break and Zakk Wylde played like a dysfunctional orchestra leader to the madness of people.
Lacuna Coil, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed and Dragonforce were the bands that eat up the atmosphere before Ozzy took the stage. The big break was the rock System of a Down who transformed the Ozzfest experience from a gala to a celebration that honored Ozzy and music.
