Nokia Announces 6102i, 6103Cashing-in on the popularity of its 6101 and 6102 phones, Nokia has announced the 6102i and 6103 phones, which add Bluetooth technology to the existing features of 6101 and 6102.

Nokia 6102i is similar to 6102 in design; Nokia 6103 introduces a modern look to the compact size and ease-of-use of 6101. Bluetooth presents huge possibilities for owners of the new phones, to increase both productivity and convenience of their mobile experience.

Nokia offers Bluetooth-enabled enhancements in the form of wireless car kits and wireless headsets; the company has announced a troika of wireless headsets, including one which is being touted as the smallest such device ever made.

Nokia’s 6102i and 6103 phones also incorporate features such as a VGA camera with dedicated camera keys; Nokia Xpress audio messaging for sending audio clips; dual-color screens with support for animated wallpapers and screensavers; synchronizable contact and calendar information; voice-dialing and recording; built-in hands-free speaker-phone; integrated FM radio; and downloadable content support such as MIDI and MP3 ring tones, themes, and games.

Aage Snorgaard, senior vice president - broad appeal products, Nokia, said, “The Nokia 6101 and Nokia 6102 phones have proven to be extremely successful. The combination of a modern, compact folding design with a strong feature set, and Nokia’s easy-to-use interface has proven to be an irresistible draw for customers shopping for a mid-range handset. With Bluetooth technology currently being on the top of many customers ‘wish lists,’ the addition of Bluetooth technology to this equation, will make the Nokia 6102i and Nokia 6103 phones even more attractive to wireless consumers.”

6102i and 6103 will ship in 2 versions: GSM 900/1800/1900 version mainly for Europe, Africa and Asia; and GSM 850/1800/1900 variant for the Americas.

Both phones are scheduled to ship during Q1 2006, for a retail price of approximately GBP 200 (excluding taxes and subsidies).
